Hellsing

Introduction
For centuries the Hellsing Institution has protected the shores of Great Britain from the undead, whether they be Vampires, or mere brainless Ghouls. This proud agency is kept a secret from the public for obvious reasons, but is widely recognised by religious factions across the globe and has the queens blessing. Now under the command of Sir Integral Wingates Hellsing, the Institution’s main weapon in the battle against the forces of darkness is a powerful Vampire named Alucard. A young police officer named Celes Victoria becomes entangled in this dark world and soon learns that her life will never be the same again. It has always been that Vampires were kept well under control, but lately the emergence of a Freak Chip that can convert humans into the walking dead has posed an unquestionable threat. It is the responsibility of the Hellsing Institution to combat this threat and prevent further undead related incidents. Alucard is truly a force to be reckoned with and under the command of Integral Hellsing he slaughters the undead left, right and centre. Though his skills are immense, they are only utilised when fully necessary, partly because others can handle things, partly because he sees the task as a waste of his abilities. On the other hand, Celes Victoria is just a simple police officer who stumbles upon the Hellsing Institution after being held hostage by a low level Vampire. As the story unfolds, we learn more about the Freak Chip and these new “instant Vampires”, yet the truth seems to be well hidden from prying eyes. Though this threat is more than enough to have to deal with, Alucard also has to face the maniacal Vatican priest: Alexander Anderson. Ultimately there can be only one victor in this secret war and it all comes down to Alucard and his true power.
Character Biographies
Alucard
Alucard (or Dracula) is the lead character in the Hellsing series. His past is shrouded in mystery and his true abilities and heritage are a well-kept secret. Alucard was awoken from the deepest prison in Hellsing by a very young Integral, at a time when the entire organisation was under threat. Since the day of his release, Alucard has been under the command of Integral and subject to the seals and restraints placed upon him and his true power. In battle he wields two guns, both constructed by the loyal Walter Kum Dorne and both possessing the ability to tear the undead to pieces. However, Alucard’s greatest weapon is not one constructed by man, but instead is the fearsome power that he carries within him.
Celes Victoria
This young, dainty police officer faced a life changing decision when she was used as a hostage by one of the lesser Vampires that were dealt with by Alucard. To kill the Vampire Alucard shot through Celes’ lungs and then proceeded to suck her blood, turning her into a Vampire, but saving her life. Now Celes does not only have to worry about the demons that await her in the darkness, but also her new found craving for blood. She is a loyal member of Hellsing and accompanies many teams out on missions to hunt and destroy the Vampire threat. Thanks to the handy work of Walter Kum Dorne, Celes carries an impressively large and destructive gun around that she uses to take out her foes from long range.
Sir Integral Wingates Hellsing
Integral took over as the leader of Hellsing after the death of her father when she was just a young girl. Today, Integral is a very professional and emotionless woman, focused solely on the survival of the great Hellsing name and family honour. In order for Alucard to unleash his full power, Integral must allow him to release the seals placed on his true nature, though she only ever allows it for a limited time. With no siblings, Integral looks to her trusted friend and employee; Walter Kum Dorne for any support she may need. The teachings of her father remain clear and meaningful in Integral’s eyes and with those words in mind she continues her service to queen and country.
Walter Kum Dorne
Walter serves Integral Hellsing as a guardian and a friend. In days past, Walter was a field operative, acquiring the nickname the “Angel of Death” due to his menacing battle prowess. We now only see short spells of Walter’s abilities, but it is clear that he is still a man to be reckoned with. His weapon of choice is thin, razor-sharp wires that extend from the top of each finger and are used to ensnare an enemy and then severe whatever part of their body Walter chooses. Walter is also a weapons specialist and the one who constructed Alucard’s handguns and Celes Victoria’s large gun. Though at times looking very much like a member of the growing number of undead, Walter is quite human and always has been. Not content with his regular service, the Angel of Death has also sworn to protect Integral as best he can, even if it means sacrificing his own life to saver her.
Incognito
We never learn Incognito’s real name, or his true origins, but what we do know is that he is an incredibly powerful and unusual Vampire. His is the only power that can even come close to Alucard’s, though his objectives and characteristics are very different. Incognito is an extremely powerful being and one who thrives on pain. He uses strange runic powers that resemble that of ancient societies and religions. By summoning the Devil Shed from Hell, Incognito granted himself the power to take on Alucard, yet he was still not powerful enough to defeat the truly immortal creature. Thanks to the appearance of this fell demon, much of London’s most ancient structures were destroyed, including Tower Bridge.
Alexander Anderson
Though only human, Alexander possesses incredible regeneration abilities. This coupled with his burning resentment for the undead, makes him one of Alucard’s tougher opponents. Alexander is a priest of the Vatican, operating within their 13th division and entrusted with the task of eradicating all Vampires, even the ones who fight for good. In the battle against evil Alexander carries an array of knives that he uses for both throwing and wielding in each hand. Every knife is baptised and designed for use solely against Ghouls and Vampires. His physical presence gives him another edge in combat, standing much taller then the average man and possessing great strength. Most terrifying is the priest’s absolute belief in his cause, which leads him at times to appear like a fanatic.
