Trigun

Introduction
The story begins with Vash being hunted by no less than two different bounty hunters. We can tell from the offset that Vash is a little bit of a goof ball, yet somehow he manages to pull off the impossible. His actions appear to be clumsy and his personality very child-like, but underneath this welcoming exterior is a man who is arguably the greatest gunman to walk the planet. Having met up with Meryl Stryfe and Milly Thompson, Vash roams from city to city, searching for his brother Knives. Many people fear him as they have all heard the stories of him being a brutal murderer, yet through many selfless acts Vash gains some close friends. As the story progresses, the comedic side of the plot begins to diminish and is replaced with a much more serious plot, involving the very survival of mankind. Not only that but Vash is also forced to put his friendliness aside as he faces foes such as Legato Bluesummers and his henchmen; the Gung-ho Guns. Trigun is the highly addictive tale of the great outlaw Vash The Stampede and his quest across the planet Gunsmoke to find the man responsible for the death of most of the human race. Vash is often referred to as the Humanoid Typhoon and has a bounty of $60,000,000,000 hanging ominously above his head, a direct result of destroying the city of July. Despite his evil reputation and haunting past, Vash is actually a peace loving man who lives by the strict words of his deceased love Rem Saverem, that nobody has the right to kill another. Vash soon meets up with Meryl Strife and Milly Thompson of the Bernadelli Insurance Company, both sent to minimise the damage caused when the infamous $60,000,000,000 man rolls into town. On his way Vash will face an endless line of thieves, bandits and murderers all intent on cashing in on the bounty, but with his trusty Trigun at his side, Vash will fulfil his destiny; he will find his brother Knives.
Character Biographies
Vash
the Stampede
Vash is a loner who wanders the deserts and towns in search of his brother Knives. Hailed as the Humanoid Typhoon, Vash has a $60,000,000,000 bounty on his head with the order to be taken dead or alive. Wherever he goes Vash is met with fear and distrust, all because he caused the destruction of July City, one of the 7 great cities on the planet Gunsmoke. Though he appears to bring trouble wherever he ventures, Vash never seems to kill anybody as he refuses to take the life of another. As a result of this noble life choice, Vash is badly scarred from his many encounters and sports some particularly gruesome gashes to his upper torso. Vash wears a loose-fitting red coat, symbolic of the red geranium that his love Rem once kept. At times you might think that this man wanders the planet without a care in the world, but underneath his playful exterior hides a soul tortured by his sketchy memory and burning feeling that somehow it is all his fault.
Knives
Very little is seen of Knives for the duration of the series, only in the last few episodes do we learn anything about him. Vash and Knives are brothers, discovered by the crew of Project Seeds and taken into their care. From the offset Knives and Vash slid down very different paths, one believing in the words of Rem Saverem and the other growing to despise life and the human race in particular. For 131 years Knives has lived amongst the race that he so despises, but the time has come for his plans to reach fruition and the only one standing in his way is Vash. At one time the two could have created their own personal Eden, but emotions like compassion and love prevented Vash from ever wanting to become involved in his brothers designs.
Nicholas
D. Wolfwood
Wolfwood is a travelling priest who meets up with Vash and the others in the middle of the desert. He is no ordinary priest however and he always wears his well-worn suit and sunglasses, while puffing away at a cigarette. He is the owner of a small orphanage, but has come to the conclusion that to help the children he must go out into the world and try to make some good money. Wherever he goes Wolfwood carries a large cross, wrapped in cloth and bound with several belts. This cross is in fact a highly sophisticated gun, capable of firing bullets and missiles as well as holding several small pistols. Vash and Wolfwood quickly become close friends and face many a foe together. Wolfwood was an orphan himself and his guardian taught him how to fight from a young age, meaning that as an adult he is a superb gunman.
Legato
Bluesummers
Legato is a dark and dangerous individual, operating under the direct control of Knives. Though he has the looks of a lady-killer, Legato is hauntingly evil and shows no hint of good will. Underneath his locks of blue hair, eyes of horrible yellow stare out at the world with contempt. Bulky white armour covers his upper body while a bleached skull is fixed firmly to his right shoulder plate. Legato is also the leader of the infamous Gung-ho Guns and uses each member to the best of their abilities, though his orders focus around the planning of Knives. Legato is arguably the most terror-instilling enemy that Vash faces in the series. He uses horrific psychic powers to control others, often forcing them to kill their comrades or even themselves. Though human himself, Legato despises his race equally as much as Knives and would do anything to see the extinction of all mankind.
Meryl
Stryfe
A quick-witted young employee of the Bernadelli Insurance Company, Meryl is sent along with Milly Thompson to locate Vash The Stampede and prevent him from causing further damage to the towns and villages that litter planet Gunsmoke. It takes Meryl a long time to realise that the blonde-hared buffoon whom she has been travelling with is in fact Vash. Wherever the Humanoid Typhoon goes, Meryl goes too, regardless of any possible danger to herself or her partner. Throughout the series, Meryl manages to get herself into some tight spots, but she continues to grow fond of Vash and his good nature. She hides a whole collection of guns under her white poncho, each able to fire just a single shot, explaining why she carries so many. Eventually her love for Vash can no longer be hidden and as the brave gunman sets off to confront Knives, Meryl waits with great hope of his return.
Milly
Thompson
Milly is the youngest of a large family and the partner of Meryl Strife. For a young lady she is very tall and broad-shouldered, but beneath her strong exterior resides a heart of pure gold. Almost child-like in her innocence, Milly views everyone under the same light and reserves no judgement over anyone. Under her large trench coat, Milly carries her massive stun gun that fires metal crosses to stop anyone who might harm her or her friends, an ideal weapon for someone who does not wish to harm anyone. If Milly has any faults it is certainly not her child-like innocence, but rather her child-like logic. Often very emotional, the giant of a girl seems happy to look at the desolate planet of Gunsmoke through the eyes of a romantic. Perhaps this innocence is why she does not fear Vash, as everyone else seems to.
